Utrecht – PSV

Utrecht hosts PSV in a match from the 6th round of the Dutch Eredivisie.

Utrecht are currently 8th in the Eredivisie with 9 points won from the first five rounds. They have a record of three wins and two losses. Goal difference is 8:6. In their last game Utrecht suffered a 0-4 defeat during the trip to Twente.

PSV are doing better so far. The Eindhoven giants are currently 2nd in the league standings, just behind the leader and reigning champion Feyenoord. PSV have the same amount of points as Feyenoord, but the champions are leaders because of their better goal difference.

So far PSV have a record of four wins and one loss, suffered during the trip to Heerenveen. In the last round Phillip Cocu’s team enjoyed a 1-0 win over the champion Feyenoord, which once again underlined their title ambitions.

You can be sure that PSV are highly motivated to win back the title from Feyenoord. They dominated the league in 2015 and 2016, before giving up the first place to Feyenoord. Now it’s time for them to return on the top.

As for Utrecht, their main goal for the season is finishing in the Top 7 and participating in the Europa League play-offs. Right now they are out of the Top 7, but they are on just one point behind the 7th PEC Zwolle.

We shall expect a really interesting season in Netherlands, especially regarding the title fight. Feyenoord, PSV and Ajax are going to fight hard for the title, while teams like AZ, Heerenveen and Vitesse should not be underrestimated as well. Can Feyenoord defend the title? For sure, it’s going to be a tough task, but not impossible. And exactly PSV are one of the teams who are going to challenge Feyenoord.
