Sevilla – Real Madrid

After their fantastic Copa Del Rey game at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, which finished with a 3-3 draw, Sevilla and Real Madrid are about to face each other once again. This time in the most interesting clash of the 18th round in the Spanish La Liga.

Real Madrid are still on top in the standings with just four points advantage in front of Sevilla, but also with a game in hand. For now Sevilla are looking like a strong contender for the league title and we can say that this game is going to be a big test for their ambitions. The Rojablancos are performing amazingly good under the management of Jorge Sampaoli and it remains to be seen how far they could go.

Real Madrid on the other hand broke the record for most games being unbeaten in Spanish football. Zinedine Zidane’s team is now unbeaten in 40 consecutive matches, which is really impressive. For now they look as the strongest contender for the gold medals, especially with the current champions Barcelona’s inconsistency.

Both managers gave a break to some of their most important players in the Copa del Rey game, so now we should expect to see the best possible line-ups from them on the pitch.

Jorge Sampaoli can’t rely on the injured Ivan Alvarez, while Daniel Carrico and Carlos Luna are doubtful. Benoit Tremoulinas and Michael Krohn-Dehli are ready to come back as they are fit to play.

Zinedine Zidane is still without the Welsh superstar Gareth Bale, while Isco and Pepe also remain doubtful because of injuries.

This is a very important game for both team. Sevilla could underline their ambitions to win the title if they beat the current leader, while Real Madrid could make an important step towards a first La Liga title since a few years.
