Real Sociedad – Sevilla

We are heading to Estadio Municipal de Anoeta in San Sebastian, where Real Sociedad hosts Sevilla in a match from the 11th round of La Liga. Let’s see what’s going on with these two teams before their match.

Real Sociedad are 12th in La Liga’s standings with 12 points won so far and a record of 3 wins, 3 draws and 4 defeats. In their last five games La Real are very inconsistent, winning once, doing two draws and suffering two defeats.

In their last game the Basques suffered a 0-2 defeat against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano. Asier Garitano’s team tried to fight back, but goals from Diego Godin and Filipe Luis allowed Atletico to win the three points.

During the week Real Sociedad had a game for Copa del Rey. La Real made a 1-1 draw during the visit to Celta. Iago Aspas opened the score for Celta, but Juanmi equalized for Real Sociedad in the last minutes of the game.

Sevilla are doing much better in the league. Los Rojiblancos are 3rd in the standings with 19 points, being just 2 points behind the leader Barcelona. So far Sevilla have won 6 of their 10 games in the league, including against Huesca in the previous round.

During the week Sevilla also had a game in the Copa del Rey 1/16-finals, making a dissapointing 0-0 draw during the visit to Villanovense. The manager Pablo Machin gave a chance to some of his backup players, but his team didn’t win the match.

That’s our look at the La Liga clash between Real Sociedad and Sevilla in San Sebastian. Sevilla are the team which is playing much better since the start of the campaign, so they are favourites for the win. But La Real won’t give up without a fight, that’s for sure.
