Juventus – Milan
Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha will welcome the game between Juventus and Milan for the Italian Super Cup.
The two most successful Italian teams in history will try to finish the year with a trophy, even if it’s far from Italy and Europe.
Juventus is the heavy favourite to win the trophy, but when it comes to direct clashes for a trophy, just like this one, very often we are talking about unpredictable games. We shall see if it is one of them.
Daniel Alves will be unavaliable for Juventus, while Leonardo Bonucci is doubtful because of an injury. Rolando Mandragora is also still recovering from a broken foot.
Milan’s manager Vincenzo Montella will be without the services Riccardo Montolivo and Davide Calabria, while Matias Fernandez is also still recovering from an injury.
Juventus is the current holder of the Supercopa Italiana and also the most successful team in the history of the tournament with 7 trophies in total. Milan are just one title short of Juve – they have won the trophy 6 times in their history.
Last year Juventus won the trophy, beating Lazio in Shanghai.
In Doha Juve will have the chance to avenge the loss they conceded against Milan at the Stadio San Siro on October 22. Last season Juventus won all of the three games against Milan – two in the Serie A and one for the Coppa Italia.
In Serie A Juventus won four of their last five games, proving once again to be in a great form. The Old Lady is 7 points clear on top, being the most dominant force in Italian football for just another season.
Milan on the other hand is still fighting for a return to the Champions League. The Rossonerri are currently 5th in the Serie A, falling with just one point behind the 3rd Napoli.
