Inter Milan – Cagliari

Inter Milan hosts Cagliari at the San Siro in a match from the 21th round of the Serie A. After two consecutive draws in the league, Antonio Conte’s team can’t allow the make mistakes anymore. And they know this very well.

Inter Milan were leaders in the Serie A, but two consecutive draws against Atalanta and Lecce allowed the champion Juventus to overtake them and go four points clear at top. These two draws were not a part of Antonio Conte’s plans and they could really hurt Inter in the title race with Juve. The question now goes like this – can the Nerazzurri regroup and start winning again? They have to, if they want to be champions.

Inter Milan’s 1-1 draw with Lecce last week was really dissapointing. The 20-years old Alessandro Bastoni opened the score for Inter just three minutes after replacing Diego Godin, but the visitors were unable to hold on their lead. In the 77th minute Lecce equalised when Marco Mancosu beat Samir Handanovic.

It’s now up to the manager Antonio Conte to do some work with his players and calm them after these two mistakes. Inter Milan need a mental strenght now more than anything else.

Cagliari were doing an amazing season so far, but the Rossoblu’s current form is far different than what we used to see. Cagliari won just one point in their last five games and only because of their fine performance before they are currently 6th in the Serie A with 30 points. At a certain moment the Rossoblu looked like a Top 4 contender, but now they are not the same team.

Last week Cagliari made their 6th draw for the season. Rolando Maran’s boys paid a visit to Brescia and the game ended with a 2-2 draw. It was Joao Pedro who scored both goals for Cagliari.

Inter Milan can’t afford doing any mistakes against Cagliari on Sunday. The Nerazzurri must win this one in order to stay close to the champion Juventus.
