Guingamp – PSG

Guingamp faces the champion PSG in a match from the second round of the French Ligue 1. Let’s have a look at this game at the Stade du Roudourou in the city of Guingamp.

Guingamp started the new campaign with a loss, conceding a 1-2 defeat during the visit to Saint-Etienne. Marcus Thuram scored the only goal for the visiting team in the game, but it was not enough for them for something more in the match. Guingamp could have won a point, but Saint-Etienne’s Lois Diony scored a winning goal just ten minutes before the end.

Just as expected, PSG started their new campaign in the Ligue 1 with a win. Under the management of their new coach Thomas Tuchel, the champions beat Caen with 3-0 at home. Neymar, Adrien Rabiot and Timothy Weah scored the winning goals for PSG, who did the job even without some of its stars like Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani.

The World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe is expected to return against Guingamp, but Edinson Cavani, Daniel Alves and Marco Veratti remain sidelined for the champions. Nobody doubts that PSG are going to win the title in the Ligue 1 again. But their main goal remains winning the Champions League. This is the main task in front of the German manager Thomas Tuchel. Just ask Unai Emery, who was sacked even when he won the Ligue 1.

As for Guingamp, their main goal is going to be survival. Against PSG they will be without the injured Abdoul Camara, Nathael Julan and Lucas Deaux.

This is our look at the Ligue 1 clash between Guingamp and PSG in the French Ligue 1. We all know who’s the big favourite here. But the champions shall be concentrated here, because every mistake could cost them dearly.
