Everton – Chelsea
Everton are doing much better, since the experienced Sam Allardyce was appointed as a manager of the club. They have won four of their last five matches and they are unbeaten during this period of time. This helped Everton to move up to 10th place in the league standings, after some time of mediocrity and negative results.
Everton are flying under the guidance of Big Sam, but now they will have a very tough test against the reigning champon Chelsea.
Chelsea are trailing on 14 points behind the leader Manchester City, so it’s very difficult to think that they have a decent chance to defend their title. In same time they are on just 3 points behind the 2nd Manchester United, so maybe this is a more realistic goal in front of them – to move ahead of the Red Devils at the 2nd place.
Just like Everton, Chelsea won four of their last five matches. The only exception was the loss against West Ham United away from home. As it looks now, Chelsea are too far away from the first place in the standings, but one shall not forget that there’s much time left until the end of the season.
Everton will be without the suspended Idrissa Gueye, while Ross Barkley and Ramiro Mori are suspended for the game. Meanwhile Maarten Stekelenburg, Leighton Baines and James McCarthy are doubtful for the match.
This will be very interesting game at the Goodison Park in Liverpool. Everton and Chelsea are performing very solid in their last matches, but only one can win this one.
