Everton – Chelsea

Everton hosts Chelsea at the Goodison Park in a game from the 12th round of the Premier League. In the next few minutes we will try to give you a good insight about this fixture in the city of Liverpool.

Everton started in a brilliant way the 2020/21 season in the Premier League, but with time their performance dropped. Right now the Toffees are 9th in the standings with 17 points won and just one win in the last five rounds – against Fulham at the Craven Cottage.

Last round Everton paid a visit to Burnley at the Turf Moor and the game ended with a 1-1 draw. Robert Brady opened the score with a very early goal for the hosts, but Everton’s top scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised in the injury time of the first half.

In the beginning of the season Everton proved us that they can do really better. The question now is this – can Carlo Ancelotti revive his team and make it win on a regular basis again? They have to do it if they want to do something significant during the 2020/21 campaign.

Chelsea are showing some solid improvement and that’s why they are currently third in the Premier League standings with 22 points. Being just two points behind the leader Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea are turning into a contender for the gold medals again. We must praise the manager Frank Lampard for the job he’s doing at the club in his second season.

Last week Chelsea celebrated their 6th win for the season. The Blues faced Leeds United at home and conceded an early goal, but they dominated and scored three times afterwards. Olivier Giroud equalised while Kurt Zouma and Christian Pulisic secured the win for the Blues.

That’s our preview for the Premier League fixture between Everton and Chelsea on Saturday. The visitors are in a much better shape at the moment, but let’s see.
