Chelsea – Watford
Chelsea hosts Watford at the Stamford Bridge in a game from the last 38th round of the Premier League. Let’s take a look at it in these soccer bets tomorrow.
On Thursday Chelsea already secured the third place in the standings. The Blues hosted Leicester City at home and the 1-1 draw in the capital was enough for them. The European champions are now three points ahead of the 4th Tottenham Hotspur and their goal difference is much better. No matter what happens on Sunday, Chelsea will finish third.
This was kind of disappointing season for Chelsea. Thomas Tuchel’s team lost two domestic finals against Liverpool and wasted a good lead against Real Madrid in the Champions League. Meanwhile the uncertainty about the club’s future regarding the ownership is also making coaches, players and fans very nervous. One thing is for sure – for Chelsea it’s going to be an interesting summer.
Marcos Alonso scored the only goal during the 1-1 draw against Leicester on Thursday. Tuchel once again started with Romelu Lukaku in attack, but replaced him with Kai Havertz in the second half. Lukaku’s future is still not clear – it’s very possible he will leave the club in the next few months.
For Watford that’s going to be a goodbye with the Premier League as they relegated back to the Championship. Once again the Hornets were unable to keep their place in the league after promotion. Now Watford are going back to the basics – starting over in the Championship and hoping to win promotion again.
Watford used the services of three different managers this season, but at the end they won just 6 of their games. They could even finish at 20th place depending on what happens between Norwich and Tottenham at the same time.
That’s the soccer bets tomorrow for the Premier League game between Chelsea and Watford. Will the Blues finish the campaign with a win?
