Chelsea – Liverpool
Chelsea are not having the best season so far. The Blues are 5th in the Premier League with 66 points. After Tottenham’s loss against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, Chelsea once again have chances to chase a Top 4 finish. Right now Antonio Conte’s team is 5 points behind the 4th Tottenham and they even have a game in hand. This means that a win over Liverpool could put Chelsea in a very good position to finish in the Top 4.
At the moment Chelsea have a record of 20 wins, 6 draws and 9 losses. It has not been the best season for them. Their manager Antonio Conte is going to leave the club in the summer, but he can still win the FA Cup with the team and qualify it for the Champions League.
In their last five games Chelsea won three consecutive times against Southampton, Burnley and Swansea. This shows us that right now they are in a pretty good shape. Can they continue like this against Liverpool as well?
Liverpool are 3rd in the Premier League with 72 points. They have a record of 20 wins, 12 draws and 4 losses since the beginning of the season. In their last five games the Reds won twice and made three draws.
During the week Liverpool had a difficult trip to Roma in the Champions League, qualifying for the final of the competition. It remains to be seen if the team’s manager Jurgen Klopp is about to make some rotations in his starting line-up for the clash.
These are our thoughts on the Premier League game between Chelsea and Liverpool.
