Bayern Munich – PSG

Bayern Munich versus PSG is the big derby of today’s matches in the UEFA Champions League group stage.

These two powerhouses will meet at the Allianz Arena in Munich in a match from Group B of the competition. PSG are currently leading the group with a perfect record of 15 points, while Bayern are second with 12. These two teams already qualified for the 1/8-finals, but the question now is who is going to win the group?

PSG are the frontrunners, of course, after beating Bayern with 3-0 in Paris. This means that Bayern will need to win with 4-0, if they want to finish first. And let’s be real – it’s almost impossible to see this result happening. PSG are very strong this season and just look at their goal difference in the Champions League so far – 24 goals scored and just one goal conceded. It’s truly impressive.

This season Unai Emery’s team is looking as a real contender for the Champions League trophy. In the summer PSG acquired players like Neymar, Dani Alves and Kylian Mbappe, which vastly improved the team. Right now PSG are dominating in France and Europe and they are better than ever.

As for Bayern Munich, they will try to avenge their heavy loss in Paris. And they will do it with a different manager at helm. Carlo Ancelotti was sacked after the defeat in the French capital and he was replaced by the club legend Jupp Heynckes. So far Heynckes is doing a great job and he proves to be the right choice for a new manager. He really found success in making the dressing room more relaxed and bringing back the joy in the players.

It’s clear that Bayern do not have any real chances for winning this group, but they can at least make their fans happy with a nice win over PSG. And then wait for the draw.
