Arsenal – West Ham United

Arsenal hosts West Ham United in an all London derby at the Emirates on Saturday. This is a fixture from the 29th round of the Premier League. We are going to preview it just now, so let’s go.

Arsenal won their last two matches in the league against Newcastle United and Everton, but despite of this they are still 10th in the standings with 37 points. The truth is that the Gunners made too many wrong steps this season and this is hurting their chances of enjoying a better place in the table. After they got eliminated from Europa League, Arsenal’s only hope of reaching the Champions League is finishing 5th in the league.

Last week Arsenal and Everton made a great game at the Emirates which ended with a 3-2 win for the Gunners. The 20-years old Edward Nketiah scored his first Premier League goal for the season, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a brace in Jordan Pickford’s net.

We think Arsenal are going in the right direction under the management of Mikel Arteta, but clearly the young Spanish manager needs more time and a summer pre-season with the team in oder to make them play in the way he wants.

West Ham United are still in the race for survival. The Hammers are 16th in the league with 27 points, but this is the same amount of points the 18th AFC Bournemouth have as well. This means that until the end of the season every point is going to be absolutely crucial for David Moyes’ team.

Last week West Ham achieved a rare, but a precious win. The Hammers hosted Southampton at the London Stadium and celebrated a 3-1 win. Jarrod Bowen, Sebastian Haller and Michail Antonio scored for the hosts.

We can make the conclusion that Arsenal are in a pretty good position to secure a third consecutive win in the Premier League. West Ham United are a really troubled team at the moment, so this is the Gunners’ game to win.
