Arsenal – Chelsea

A domestic double for Chelsea or another FA Cup for Arsenal? This is the big question before the huge final between these two giants of English football at the Wembley Stadium in the capital.

Chelsea will try to win the double for a first time since Carlo Ancelotti’s reign. The curious thing is that now they have the chance to do it with another Italian manager at helm – Antonio Conte. Juventus’ former head coach won the Premier League in his first season at Stamford Bridge, just how Ancelotti managed to do it a few years ago. Now Conte has the chance to win the FA Cup for a first time as well.

As for Arsenal, The Gunners have the chance to become the most successful club in the history of the FA Cup. Right now the Londoners are equal to Manchester United in this regard, with both clubs having 12 trophies from the competition.

This final is very interesting because of something else, too. This could be the last game of Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger in this position. A lot of fans want the legendary Frenchman to quit the position after another dissapointing season in the Premier League. It’s expected Wenger to announce his decision shortly after the final against Chelsea.

There are some problems for Arsenal before the game. The biggest issue of all is the suspension of Arsenal’s best defender Laurent Koscielny. Santi Cazorla and Gabriel are also missing the game because of injuries, while Kieran Gibbs and Shkodran Mustafi are doubtful. If Mustafi is unavaliable for The Gunners as well, it could be a really serious headache for Wenger.

Chelsea have a full squad for the final. The Blues are also in a terrific form lately, having won all of their five matches in all competitions.

Chelsea are the big favourites to win the trophy, which is understandable – they are new champions of England. But this is a final and in a final everything could happen. Be careful with your picks for this one.
